| Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute | (Integrated Graduate Education and Research Traineeship) award from the U. S. National Science Foundation provides $30K annual stipend and full tuition $31K for a graduate student working toward a PhD degree.
This program is targeted to students who are interested in studying at the Ph.D. level. The area of emphasis at Rensselaer for the IGERT program is in "Terahertz Science and Technology". Students will work in advanced research facilities at Rensselaer, for examples, the Center for Terahertz Research, Center for Advanced Interconnect System and Technologies where faculty from physics and many other departments are among the world leaders in exploiting the visionary role of Terahertz Science and Technology. This emerging research holds enormous potential in scientific advances. THz research will transform future computing and communication systems, while providing unprecedented opportunities for biomedical imaging. For more details please see web site . |
| Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute | (Graduate Assistance in Areas of National Need Program) award from the Department of Education in 2003 provides $30K annual stipend and full tuition $31K for a graduate student working toward a PhD degree. This program is targeted to students who are interested in studying at the Ph.D. level in areas designated as being of the “highest national need.” The areas of emphasis at Rensselaer for the GAANN program are in Terascale electronics, photonic materials, and devices. Students will work in advanced research facilities at Rensselaer, such as the Center for Integrated Electronics (CIE), where faculty from physics and many other departments are among the world leaders in exploiting the visionary role of Terascale electronics and photonics. This emerging research holds enormous potential in scientific advances, such as super-fast computing, data storage, and data transport. For more details please see web site. |
